FLOODING - Parish Council Update 22 September 2023

The Civil Contigencies Unit at Somerset Council has been notified of the properties affected by flooding in the Parish. Many people have struggled to get through on the phone number given. If you still require support of any kind please do not hesitate to get in touch with the Clerk, Sam Rawle (clerk@withycombepc.co.uk, Tel: 07770634901) or contact one of the Parish Councillors (contact details on the website), alternatively contact the Village Agents on 01823 331 222. Works are currently ongoing to mend and clear Combe Lane.

 FLOODING - Parish Briefing September 2023

Residents affected by the recent flooding should log a call with Somerset Council contact centre on 0300 123 2244 to report their circumstances. This will ensure the Council have a comprehensive picture of those people affected; and can offer help where possible.  New Additions to the Amenity Space

A sensory play panel and chunky noughts and crosses game was installed at the Amenity Space on the 15th June 2023. These were generously funded by Magna Housing out of their Community Budget fund. A big thank you to Neil Bliss from Magna and Kerrie the Parish Council Chair for organising  the new equipment.

ROAD CLOSURE INFORMATION

Temporary Road Closure - Combe Lane, Withycombe

The works are expected to commence on 1st November 2023 and last for 30 days to carry out drainage and carriageway repairs.

HIGHWAYS UPDATES

Somerset Council is the Highways Authority for the parish. We are in regular contact with them about the state of the roads, paths and drains in the parish.

The damage to Combe Lane has been reported to Somerset Highways and they are currently assessing the damage.

The collapsing verge alongside the stream at Buck Hill has been reported to Somerset Highway.
